My best friend passed away a while ago, when we were both 15. It's been about 6 years now and I am taking a trip to europe in a week. His parents have asked me to take a little bit of his remains with me and sprinkle them in different places (he always wanted to travel the world, and since he was never able to do so, this is our way of getting him there). Long Story: My girlfriend's grandmother has lived next to an empty lot (a little over an acre) for 20 years, with no problems. The neighbors on the other side mowed the lawn and neighborhood children played in it. The last few months as the weather warmed teens who did not live in the neighborhood have been congregating there late at night. It wasn't a problem initially as they were quiet and respectful of the neighbors (mostly elderly). Recently more and more teens have been showing up, leaving broken beer bottles, lighting small fires, and harassing neighbors who politely ask them to be quieter. For the past two weeks police have been called repeatedly by various neighbors. Although there have been a few arrests for underage drinking/possession of pot/etc., most just scatter when they see police, jumping fences and running though yards before reconvening when police leave. Sunday her neighbors are going to clean the lot and mow the lawn so the children can play there again. My girlfriends father and I are going to be there to install motion detecting floodlights on her and the other neighbors house but I have a feeling they will be broken quickly now that school is letting out. So, I am looking for something that I could repeatedly sprinkle or place in certain areas of the lot that would make a terrible smell for a few hours (neighbors all use central air religiously). It shouldn't hurt the soil or grass (its very close to a river), can be cleaned up easily or biodegrade quickly, and that shouldn't be a problem for children if they were to touch a small amount. (the children that play there are old enough to not directly eat anything left behind) I was thinking sulfur as it can be purchased at lawn and garden stores, but I am worried as it is flammable and they have already started fires. The neighbors have applied Scotts Weed control and fertilizer if that is important. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You really need to go to the doctor, it will only get worse. I had one on my butt cheek, and when a male doctor walked in I was so worried. Has anyone had the titanium plate crack while still in the neck?

In 1996 i had a double disc surgery in my neck. They used coral implants with a titanium plate to secure. 3 years ago i had an xray taken that showed the plate had cracked in half. I had requested the xray due to discomfort in the area of the surgery. Recently i had another xray taken and it revealed that the bone is starting to grow over the top of the plate. My throat always feels scratchy, i have lots of mucus and pressure on the location causes me to cough or discomfort. I am looking for answers ~ Tammy

Alright, his name is Max. The idiots that had him before us gave him heartworm. He went through treatment, recovered, and was doing alright. That's when we adopted him. He is older, although they don't know his exact age. Recently, he has gotten better at walking (he could barely walk a half-mile before), and is now walking one mile loops five days of the week (give or take). Unfortunately, he has also gained some weight, and while he weighed about eighty-five pounds when we got him, he now weighs about 115 pounds (I know). We've been working to help him lose weight by no longer sprinkling grated treats onto his food, as that was the only way that he would eat it dry (we used cans and dry food before this, hence the big weight gain). We've also eliminated the unnecessary snacks and food given to him. He's lost a few pounds so far. So anyway, today when Max woke up, he seemed tired. More tired than usual (he's a black lab). There was also a small spot of pee on his bed. Max has never done anything like this before, and has always had a bladder capable of withstanding long hours of not going. While Max usually follows you around to see what you're doing, today he just followed you and sprawled out. He has also been breathing heavily for short periods of time and has just appeared to have lost most of his energy. About three weeks ago, Max went to the vet. He tested negative for heartworm, and very other testable disease except for the one involving tall grass, which we didn't get. So, any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated as we are all worried for Max. I need advice on training a Tennessee walking horse.?

I work on a small private farm helping retrain three off the track thoroughbreds for their new careers as trail horses. But there is a middle aged, ten maybe fifteen year old Tennessee walking horse who's owner wants him put back into work. He is a very nervous horse, always tense around people. He leads great never pulls,backs, stands ok and is generally pretty good. He was a fun good trail horse but he developed the bad habit bucking. he started the bucking and his owner had this guy who was a total creep and bad horseman ride him and that's what probably made the problem worse. I rode him yesterday to see what/ how he would do. He stopped with gentle/barley any pressure on the reins and walked with the slightest of leg cues. They don't have a ring so i rode in a small pasture and he did great in his comfort zone by the barn but at the top of the pasture he got a bit to speedy for me.i am wondering if i should have him in a shank bit like a curb or a tom thumb, just for a little bit extra whoa because I asked for him to whoa and he kept going and went faster. I tensed and grabbed with my legs to much which sent him faster and i was still pulling back for a whoa and he got confused and tossed his head and got a bit panicky .That part was my fault but i didn't expect him to totally ignore my asking him to whoa, not that that is an excuse i wont do that again. what should i do if he panics again? asking for him to whoa makes things worse but what if i need him to stop.

Man, thats really hard to say. Arn was called the Enforcer for good reason. But Tully had some darn good matches with Magnum TA, which I feel firmly solidified his place in the Horseman. Together, they were a devastating tag team. If I truly had to pick just one, I'd have to lean towards Blanchard. Arn was probably a better wrestler, but Tully's matches with Magnum were historic, and he is one of the only men I saw who I thought could actually tag with Flair effectively. I was always a Windham fan, and thought he deserved better pushes. I was happy to see him become a Horseman, and saw it as recognition for his dedication to the sport. Mongo and Flair 2.0, aka Jeff Jarrett, were I think by far the worse.

Dog had a little paprika?

I had made something that I thought would be okay for my dog, sweet potatoes. But I didn't know Paprika was bad for dogs. By the time you made it realistic enough to be believable (because you have to keep in mind how they would interact, political stuff, racial tensions, histories, etc.) I would imagine it would be very long. Keep in mind that there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of mythical creatures from all different cultures in the world, and I think it would be very difficult to include them all in a way that they were all important to the story and not just for the hell of it. But if you really can do it, more power to you. Assuming it was well written and had a captivating story, I might read it.

so out my friends and I (10 of us) were planning a trip to vegas. then a few of them canceled and we realized that we don't have enough funds anymore to go. Getting out of lease? apartment does not meet expectation?

a friend of mine recently looked at an apartment complex. the apartment they showed him was nice, it looked well taken care of and good. Where he was going to live was not available for viewing but needing an apartment and assuming it would meet the standards of the one that was shown to him, he signed a lease. when they gave him his key, the apartment he was to live in was revealed to be extremely substandard in comparison, unkempt, unmanageably peeling, bad odor, the whole gambit. He stated that he did not want to live there and the manager said that he had already signed the lease. Is there any way out of this? The manager has offered to repair the apartment at no cost but the time frame it will take to fix means he and his family would have to live rather uncomfortably.

O.K., I used to work in child protective services. Laws very by state. In general, a call comes in and the caller's name is kept confidential. The call taker makes an assessment as to whether or not there will be a follow up. That's the first gate keeper. If allegations are made that the child's life is in danger from abuse or neglect then the call has to be referred on to someone who goes out to check on the child. The age of the child makes a big difference in this. It doesn't sound like anyone is going to be taking away your children. They haven't even suggested opening up a case. Perhaps you just need to adjust your way of looking at it all. Social workers are people who care about the welfare of your children, they aren't "the enemy". If they do open a case, it's not the end of the world. Sit down with them. Tell them the truth and you will find they can offer some useful services. If you co-operate by doing classes or whatever they come up with as a "plan", it won't be long and they'll have closed the case. Look upon them as friends dropping by to visit. The state does not make any money by adopting children out. They do, however, have a mandate to not let children linger in foster care. Relatives are the first choice for fostering any child that needs to be removed from the home and they are also the first choice for adoption if they child cannot be returned home. Terminating parental rights doesn't just happen. The parents usually have a lot of chances to turn things around. But I get that this is an invasion of your privacy for no good reason, so perhaps you should consider consulting with a family law attorney to see if you can get CPS to stop coming over because you are feeling harassed. Guinea pig biting. HELP!?

I've had a guinea pig named sprinkles for about 2 months now. other than lately, she was a very sweet and gentle guinea pig. I've had guinea pigs before, but never had this problem. she's rather young, but kinda fat. if you go around her chin or stomach, she bites you. and sometimes even if your just sitting there. and it's not a nibble, it's a full on bite. To punish her for this, I don't hit her, but i put her back in the cage until she calms down. Several years ago I learned how to use sand to illustrate a weathered stucco wall in the South of France. It involved wetting the paper (just water, or a light wash?), sprinkling sand (let it dry, or continue wet?) and dropping in other colors. Good question. These books where not complied into one "old testament" until centuries after they were originally written separately. In that time is is very possible that small miscopies can occur. When you think about it, it is remarkable that they are even that similar! There are such minor inconsistencies in the Bible, which I why I prefer not to emphasize its "infallibility" as much as its "authoritativeness", that is, its ability to teach us the principles of God, his character, will, and how he interacts with those he's created, and it give us trustworthy direction on how to live our lives.

Cat is losing weight although he eats well?

My 11YO male cat has been losing weight since January. Blood work done reveals a very healthy animal! He has also been licking fur off and is bald on various parts of his body. He's active, alert, rambunctious...normal...but looks so skinny. Vet has done check up and everything seems normal. He may have a food allergy; vet says if he's not bleeding from the licking of fur we can leave him be...he does not recommend cortisone to relieve. Cooking with the "Montreal Chicken" Spice blend.?

Tonight, I am making dinner for my family, and I have decided on steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes and Montreal Chicken. I use the spice "Montreal chicken" I start by putting aluminum foil on a baking sheet, and of course washing the chicken. Preheating to 350, I put the chicken on the baking sheet, and sprinkle the 'Montreal chicken" on it and the pour some Italian dressing on top. Super easy, my only problem is everything around the chicken burns! The chicken doesn't, in fact it turns out amazing! I just don't want the extra stuff on the foil to burn. How do I keep that from happening???

How long do I have to cycle my fish tank if im using an old filter from before?

So I have a ten gallon tank that had fish in it last week..then they died from ich because while i was at my dads house my mom won two goldfish and stuck them in the tank with all the other fish. Anyway, I replaced all the water and I took out all the gravel and washed it with a strainer. I put the gravel back in and i put the same decor in. I filled the tank back up and im using the same old filter but i replaced one of the things because it was nasty. But the other one is still in there. I also sprinkled a little food in there. How long should i wait til add the fish?

Sulcata Tortoise with VERY soft shell HELP !?

I have 2 sulcata tortoises, about a month or 2 ago I noticed they were getting alittle soft, so I bought so calcium. One of the tortoises is fine now, nice and firm shell. The other one . . .has gotten worse !!! The shell is sooo soft on the sides and the underside !! I sprinkle the calcium on his food, and I give him time outside so I dont know why he wont firm up !! What can I do to fix this ? They are 7 months old. I feed them Grass, Romaine lettuce and rose petals.

Ok, 7 days ago I bought 3 red wag platties. They are in a tank with 1 male blue neon dwarf gourami, 3 rainbow plattys, shrimp and albino bristlenose plecos. UnfortAnatly, 2 of the red wag plattys (1 male and 1 of the females) are not doing so well and from my experience I am gunna say that they aren't going to make it. So at petco I saw a orange one that has olblack dots and kindof look like a orange cupcake with black and a few other colored sprinkles. I want those and some sort of yellow platty. So my question is, will the 1 female redwag platty be fine As the only only of her kind and with 3 yellow wag platty, the orange ones, and the blue rainbow plattys? Or do I have to get at least another female for her? Also will the female red wag platty mate with a male yellow wag platty? Or would any of thE platties I listed cross breed with eachother? Don't say it would bev overcrowded cuz im not worried about that! Will thE female red wag platty bE fine by herself and not another red wag platty? What could be the cause of petechiae and bloody noses?

My 14 y/o son has always had bloody noses off and on throughout the years. Some take awhile to stop. Pediatricians always told me keep nose moist with vaseline and use humidifier. Now my some has petichiae (small covering the top of both feet and around ankles). Looks like cayenne pepper sprinkles. I always notices a little, but didn't think anything. It got worse over the years, so took him to peds. to have a look. He told me it's petechiae and need to do blood tests given history of nosebleeds. First round of tests showed blood count slightly low, platelets normal. He called a hematologist. Hematologist told peds to run a Von Willebrand test. It came back a little off. Went to hematologist, he asked if my son scratches his feet. Yes, sometimes, but not often. He did another round of tests to re-check the first tests. It came back prolonged PTT, but platelets ok. He said clotting factor was fine, so why abnormal PTT? He said could be interfering substances, or enzymes. Said he doesn't need to see him anymore...not a bleeding issue. He still has petechiae on his feet (not scratching), and just had a massive bloody nose. I don't understand. If I follow up with the pediatrician, what's next? My son has had several surgeries in the past with no bleeding problems. I had heavy menstrual cycles. Could they be missing something? I don't want to put my son through more blood tests, but???

Need some ideas for a three part story?

Basically i'm making a three part trilogy about Angels and Demons battling each other. The first book is like these Demons invaded Heaven and begin attacking inside Heaven but the hero of the story stops them along with other Angels. The leader tells them before he dies that Lucifer is rising up again and no one can stop him. The second book takes place a few months after the attack but this time a Human stole the Scroll of the Lamb and is releasing the Horsemen (Death, Famine, Pestilence, War) on Earth and they must track them down and seal them again. The final book is basically an all out war between Heaven in Hell, the Demons break into Heaven and the hero must find the sword of the Apocalypse(made it up), it's the only sword that can harm Lucifer, but the hero discovers he's Jesus so he has to fight his archenemy, Damien the son of Lucifer. I was wondering what to call this trilogy and if i should amke mroe after these three are done. any ideas?

I live in a flat and there is a communal garden. There are several cats who come in the garden and poop all over the place. I am not going to go out and poopascoop cat poop! The 'Four Horsemen of Atheism'...who is the 'best'?

I realize that the question is more complex than simply "who is the best?". However, I would like to hear your opinions. As a Christian, I don't find any of them convincing. I'm a "reformed atheist" who has managed to find my way out of the box that atheism would like to force me into. I also realize that most atheists would see my situation as just the opposite, but I'm not looking for a debate with this particular question. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Dawkins seems to be very weak in debates and is only convincing in book form when no one with a dissenting opinion is present to dispute his ideas. Hitchens, while very entertaining, also seems to be unable to answer certain questions but is very creative in dancing around them until they are lost and/or forgotten. I am less familiar with Harris and Dennett, though I have seen them debate some years ago.

You might like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the sequels - I've heard they are hard to get into right away, but once you get through the beginning it is great. Also, I'm a fan of Jodi Picoult's books, she has quite a few dealing with various topics - primarily a focus on social relationships and dealing with traumatic issues.

Looking for a fun way to get rid of our old pool ... chemically..?

Just bought my family a nice new pool, one that will come complete with beautiful wood deck and everything, but want to give them something frighting to wake up to the morning before I reveal the purchase... I want to know what I can do to make it look like either the chemicals or something else destroyed the old plastic liner pool inflatable tube pool, other than being caused by me. I'm picturing big holes melted into the plastic and water gushing out, just so they can freak out a little before I reveal to them a pleasant surprise for the summer... I ate way too much today?!?

So I'm on a pretty strict diet, I'm not overweight at all but I wanna tone up. The day started off ok, I skipped breakfast and at about 1 I went to tcby and got frozen yogurt with a lotta toppings :( candy toppings. Then for a dinner I went to a restaurant and had a little thing of cream of broccoli soup and a ceasar salad with grilled chicken and no dressing, but I think there was sprinkled cheese on there. Feeding too much or little?

My gelding is stall kept. Has too until he is sold, and crawls under the wire fencing. Yes the fence is on, do not know if he's getting shocked or anything. Didn't have that problem with the last owner. Thing is he does get hay and water and half a scoop of Horseman's edge 12% of sweet feed. I switched his feed because he got the southern states brand of textured feed which was the cheapest crappy feed. He's a lean pony, not going to get any fatter, doesn't need to be obese. I just need him staying at a healthy weight. My papa told me I wasn't giving him much hay and giving him too much feed. I do ride him every day and he's out for 2-3 hours, I ride him for an hour. I don't know if I am giving him too much or not enough. I will call a vet here soon and talk to them about it.
